About Aerograffix
The journey of my career as an artist has a shared path as the founder of Aerograffix. Beginning when I identified with the nickname “Sauce” I compiled sketchbooks with design concepts for murals and took to the streets so to speak. Gaining permission to paint public or private walls proved difficult with a primitive folio and limited professional experience. Keen as mustard and enthusiastic to learn, I completed studies in illustration, painting and drawing. Prolifically sketching and painting at every opportunity, my skills and experience were steadily building. With aspirations to take my art to the next level I participated in many community events and projects. In 2000 the opportunity to establish Aerograffix came to fruition.
Aerograffix has since gained a positive reputation for quality murals that appeal to a wide audience. All commissions are custom designed and painted by myself ensuring exciting artwork accompanied with personalised service. I have always been fascinated with aerosol as a medium and also enjoy working with brushes to produce murals and works on canvas. I relish the challenge to paint a variety of subject matter onto diverse surfaces and sizes. Using mixed media, I combine techniques to create realistic forms and clean lines. My unique approach to aerosol art has gained widespread recognition locally and internationally.
Under the Aerograffix banner I also offer workshops to engage a variety of young people from recidivist offenders to students of mainstream, alternative and special schooling providers. I really enjoy facilitating workshops, observing achievements of participants whilst teaching arts skills in a positive, safe learning environment. The success of involving participants in hands on creative arts has enabled me to deliver projects to over 55 schools across Queensland, New South Wales and the Northern Territory in recent years. In addition to extensive practical experience, I completed a Diploma of Youth Work in 2003 and have presented “Youth in Context” as a guest speaker at the University of Queensland in 2005, 2006 & 2008. Aerograffix is fully insured and holds a Positive Notice Blue Card for Child Related Employment.
